PrintSolarbration Celebrates Everything Solar
Solarbration was selected as the winning name for the first annual Solar Festival in Las Vegas, scheduled from 4 to 9:30 p.m., June 21, at the Henderson Events Plaza. Local residents were invited to submit entries in a naming contest held in March.
Solarbration was chosen to represent the celebration of everything solar at the festival, held on the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. Hosted by the Conservation District of Southern Nevada, the purpose of the festival is to blend art, technology and outreach to promote renewable energy, inspire conservation and support sustainable communities. Residents will enjoy solar-powered art, educational demonstrations and live music and food at this fun, family-friendly event.
